Here's how to erase all data on the SD / memory card in your TCL 40 XE 5G.
This procedure erases all data on the SD / memory card. It's recommended to back up your data before formatting.
To perform the steps below, ensure the SD / memory card is inserted then do the following:
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Storage
    .
  3. Tap
    SD / Memory Card
    .
    The name of the SD / memory card varies by manufacturer.
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap
    Storage settings
    .
  6. Tap
    Format
    .
  7. Tap
    ERASE & FORMAT
    .
    Allow several seconds for the process to complete.
  8. From the 'Your SD card is ready to use' prompt, tap
    DONE
    .
