Samsung Galaxy S24 / Galaxy S24 Ultra - Move Media Files to / from Computer

Here's how to transfer picture, video or music files between your Galaxy S24 / Galaxy S24+ / Galaxy S24 Ultra and a computer.

Only unprotected video / music files can be transferred using this method.

If using a Macintosh® computer, additional software is required in order to transfer files.

Connect your Galaxy S24 / Galaxy S24+ / Galaxy S24 Ultra to a computer using the supplied USB cable.

If prompted to allow access to your data, tap

If necessary, touch and hold the

Status Bar

at the top then drag to the bottom.

From the list of notifications, locate then tap the USB option (e.g., USB charging, USB for image transfer, etc.).

If necessary, tap the notification to expand it.

Select

Transferring files

From your computer, open File Explorer or Windows Explorer.

Using the computer keyboard, press the

Windows+E

Alternatively, right-click

Start

then select 'Open Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer'.

Using File Explorer or Windows Explorer, navigate:

Phone

Galaxy S24 is listed under the 'Devices and drives' section of 'This PC'.

Device name reflects your device model (e.g., Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra) or its customized name.

Utilize the computer to copy media files between the appropriate folder on the device and the desired location on the computer's hard drive.

Some folders that may contain files on the device include:

DCIM\Camera

Download

Movies

Pictures

Music

When finished, disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
