MOTO G PLAY - 2024 - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, etc.) on your moto g play - 2024.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap the
    Use Wi-Fi hotspot switch
     to turn on.
  4. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Hotspot name
    • Hide my device
    • Security (e.g., None, WPA2 PSK, etc.)
    • Hotspot password
      The new password must be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        OK
        .
    • Tap
      Extend compatibility
       to turn on or off the use of the 2.4Ghz.
    • Tap
      Timeout settings
       then select an option (e.g., 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.).
  5. Tap
    Manage devices
     then configure any of the following:
    • Manage allowed devices
      1. Tap
        Managed allowed devices
        .
      2. If available, tap (check)
        Allow all devices
        .
      3. Tap
        Add allowed device
        , enter the MAC address and device name (optional) then tap
        OK
        .
    • Device limit (e.g., 1, 4, 10, etc.)
      1. Tap
        Device limit
        .
      2. Select an option (1, 2, 3, etc.).
