TCL 50 XE 5G - Customize Your Home Screen

Here's how to add / remove Home screen items (widgets, apps or folders) and set the wallpaper on your TCL 50 XE 5G.
To customize the Home screen on your TCL 50 XE 5G, do any of the following:

A shortcut to an individual contact or bookmark can only be added to a Home screen via a widget.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Touch and hold the desired app.
  3. Drag the icon to the preferred Home screen location then release.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.
Widgets are mini-apps (e.g., weather, clock, calendar, etc.) that can be added to a Home screen. They aren't the same as shortcuts as they generally display info and take up more space than a single icon.
  1. Touch and hold an empty area of a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
    .
  3. Tap an app (e.g. Calendar, Clock, etc.) to view the available widgets.
  4. Touch and hold a widget.
  5. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.
  6. If applicable, tap additional options to activate widget.
    Options vary depending upon the type of widget.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a shortcut (e.g., Files).
  2. Drag the shortcut on to another shortcut (e.g., Gmail) then release.
    A folder containing the shortcuts is created (titled Unnamed Folder). The folder can be renamed.
    1. Tap the folder.
    2. Tap the title bar at the bottom of open folder.
    3. Enter a name then tap the
      Done checkmark icon
      .
      To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears or drag the folder to
      Remove
       then release.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, shortcut, etc.).
  2. When the menu appears, do one of the following:
    • To remove an app, release the app then tap
      Remove
      .
    • To remove a widget, drag it to Remove then release the widget.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a blank space.
  2. Tap
    Wallpapers & style
    .
  3. Tap
    Change wallpaper
    .
  4. Select a wallpaper category (e.g., Static wallpapers, My photos, etc.).
  5. Locate then tap the preferred picture.
  6. Tap
    Apply
     then choose an option:
    • Home screen
    • Lock screen
    • Home screen and lock screen
