Samsung Galaxy A16 5G - Google Backup and Restore

Here's how to ensure your Gmail, contacts, apps, etc. are backed up on your Galaxy A16 5G.

Open the

Settings app

Navigate:

Accounts and backup

Backup up data

If prompted, select the data you want to back up (Photos & videos, Other device data, or both), tap

Confirm

then tap 'OK' or 'Manage backup'.

If 'Other device data' is turned on, do any of the following:

Turn Photo and Video Backup On / Off:

Tap

Photos & videos

from the Backup details section.

Tap the

Backup switch

Change Backup Accounts:

Tap

Manage storage

Tap the preferred Google™ (Gmail™) account or tap 'Add account'.

Turn All Backups Off:

Tap the

Backup by Google One switch

Tap

Turn off & delete

to confirm.

If turned off, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.

Backups can't be restored from a higher Android™ version onto a phone with a lower Android version.

When a Google account is added to your phone, previous backups are restored. This can be done by adding an existing Google account to your already active phone or by signing in to the same Google account while setting up your new or reset phone.
