Google Pixel 9a - Activate / Set Up Device
Here's how to quickly set up your Pixel 9a.
Your Pixel 9a:
- ships without a physical SIM card and is recommended to be activated with an eSIM (embedded SIM card).
- can activate cellular service using an eSIM or physical SIM.If performing first-time (out-of-the-box) setup and a physical SIM card is preferred, ensure:
- you're in a Verizon coverage area.
- a 5G SIM is inserted then select the SIM as the default cellular data number after setup is complete.To avoid potential activation / service issues, don't insert a 4G SIM card.

- If powered off, press and hold thePower buttonuntil the Google logo appears then release.Pixel 9a devices don't have a pre-installed 5G SIM card and are recommended to be activated with an eSIM (embedded SIM card).
- From the 'Welcome to your Pixel' screen, select the appropriate language then tapGet started.
- From the 'Set up using another device', screen select an option.TapSkipto bypass this step.
- From the 'Connect to Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.TapSkipto connect to a Wi-Fi network after setup is complete.If activating using eSIM, a Wi-Fi network is required if activation fails over the mobile network.
- From the 'Phone activation' screen, tapContinue.If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for more info).If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

- From the 'All set!' screen, swipe up from the bottom of the phone to go to the Home screen.
