Verizon names Andrew McKechnie to lead new in-house creative agency

NEW YORK - Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ) today announced that Andrew McKechnie, formerly of Apple Inc., has been named Chief Creative Officer of its newly formed in-house agency. Effective immediately, McKechnie will assume leadership of Verizon's in-house team with the goal of building out creative capabilities and bringing the company's brand vision to life. McKechnie will report directly to Diego Scotti, Chief Marketing Officer, Verizon.

"As we expand our bench of world-class marketing talent, we are thrilled for Andrew to bring his global expertise and fresh aesthetic to the Verizon brand," says Scotti. "Andrew and his team will help to drive demand for our products and services, as well as accelerate our efficiencies, speed to market and innovation."

McKechnie brings more than sixteen years of experience in design and communications to the role. Prior to joining Verizon, he was Global Group Creative Director with Apple Inc., where he oversaw their global marketing communications design team. Beginning his career in Asia, McKechnie garnered experience at BBDO and JWT. He made the move to New York in 2010 when he joined Y&R, as Global Creative Director, where his work across LG Electronics, Land Rover North America and United States Olympic Committee was highly-awarded.
