GTE signs $5 million contract for consulting services with Samsung Data Systems; Korea Telecom is customer.

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. -- GTE today announced a $5 million contract with Samsung Data Systems (SDS) in Korea, its first in this Far East market.

Under the contract, GTE will provide consulting services for the design, development and implementation of portions of the Integrated Customer Information System (ICIS) for Korea Telecom, which will benefit the customer by positioning it for the deregulated marketplace.

GTE and SDS will collaborate in initiating a comprehensive marketing system and new data center infrastructure in support of ICIS. The initial contract is expected to be completed by 1997.
