Verizon received numerous honors at the Nemertes Research PilotHouse Awards ceremony, further validating the company's global industry leadership in wireless and IP-based enterprise network solutions.

Specifically, Verizon was recognized as a Top Provider among Market Leaders for wireless voice and data services, MPLS services, managed Internet services, hosted Voice-over-IP offerings and Internet access services.  The awards ceremony was held Monday (Aug. 1) on Amelia Island, Fla.

The Nemertes PilotHouse Awards are unique in the industry because winners and finalists are selected by a survey group of approximately 2,000 IT decision-makers who rate their primary and secondary service providers based on actual end-user experience.

"These awards reinforce Verizon's proven track record of delivering integrated IP and wireless solutions that are changing the nature of the workplace and shaping the future of work," said Mike Lanman, chief operating officer for Verizon Business. "Our advanced network services provide the essential foundation for enterprise mobility and unified communications and collaboration, which our customers are leveraging to gain a competitive edge and better serve their customers."

Nemertes Research conducts the PilotHouse Awards program annually. Vendors are not nominated; rather, any vendor is eligible to receive ratings.  Nemertes issues awards to Market Leaders and Market Challengers. The companies are categorized based on their market presence in the specific technology area being rated.  For the 2011 awards, 2,000 IT executives rated their vendors and service providers on technology, customer service and value in 22 technology areas.
