New Choices Now Available From the No. 1 Video-on-Demand Service - Verizon's FiOS TV

NEW YORK - Just in time for the presidential general election campaign, Verizon has added CSPAN's political coverage to its industry-leading FiOS TV video-on-demand (VOD) library.  Customers across the country can now enjoy this and even more home-entertainment choices as Verizon continues to expand its VOD library with other recently added programs from Warner Bros. 85th Anniversary Movie Vault, Si TV, Concert TV and more.

In addition, Verizon has added new high-definition (HD) content from several providers to the FiOS TV VOD library, including Big Ten Network, Flow TV, Octane TV and Ripe TV.  The FiOS TV VOD library, which offers more than 11,000 titles each month, 70 percent of which are free, includes an increasing number of HD titles.  By the end of the year, Verizon plans to offer 1,000 HD VOD titles each month.

Verizon's FiOS TV VOD library delivers a variety of content offerings, ranging from popular movies and political coverage to cultural on-demand programming.  Customers looking to catch up on the latest coverage of the presidential race now have access through CSPAN on-demand to speeches and events from both Democratic and Republican conventions as well as interviews with politicians.  This VOD listing will be made available through the election, keeping FiOS TV customers informed and up-to-date.

FiOS TV customers also will see a number of new HD VOD listings from Ripe TV, which targets men; Flow TV, which targets hip-hop fans; and Octane TV, featuring coverage of the automobile culture, including industry events, profiles, street racing, motocross, auto stunts and more.

For college football and basketball fans, Verizon has added on-demand content in both standard-definition (SD) and HD from the Big Ten Network.  Verizon also offers the Big Ten Network as part of its regular channel lineup, in both SD and HD, in several markets and will continue rolling out the network in all other FiOS TV markets during the next month.

For movie fans, Verizon is offering Warner Bros. 85th Anniversary Movie Vault on FiOS TV VOD.  Through October, customers will have access to 85 Warner Bros. films including "Dirty Harry," "Ocean's 11," "Casablanca," and "Superman," among others.  Verizon is also offering FLIX on demand, which offers customers classic movies from the 1950s through the 1990s.

Some of the other new content listings that Verizon recently added to the FiOS TV VOD library include Si TV, Concert TV, The Jewish Channel and Shalom TV.  Si TV delivers Latino cultural programming including the latest in entertainment, lifestyle, standup comedy, classic series and feature films.  Concert TV offers FiOS TV customers the only television network dedicated to live music performance, and documentary and lifestyle programming.  The Jewish Channel is a nationally available network that offers dozens of movies every month as well as original series featuring award-winning journalists and celebrities, and documentaries that explore Jewish life in America, Israel and around the world.  Shalom TV is American Jewry's free, national cable television network featuring interviews with major Jewish figures, exclusive content from the 92nd Street Y, news and travelogues on Israel, original children's programs, and more.

Verizon's FiOS TV VOD library offers titles that encompass a broad range of interests, including kids, music, pop culture, Spanish language, and home and leisure.  Customers can access video on demand simply by pressing the "VOD" or "On Demand" button on their remote control, by using a menu on FiOS TV's interactive media guide, or selecting the VOD channel.
