PRIMECO PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS UNVEILS NEW LOGO

New name and logo will help company market
innovative services this year

DALLAS - PrimeCo Personal Communications, L.P., today
unveiled a logo
that will be used to market a new generation of wireless services later
this year in 11 U.S. markets. PrimeCo is the personal communications
services (PCS) company formed by an alliance of AirTouch Communications
[NYSE:ATI], Bell Atlantic [NYSE:BEL], NYNEX [NYSE:NYN] and US WEST
Media Group [NYSE:UMG].

The logo sports a free-hand drawing of a whimsical wireless telephone
in a cool red color with the name PrimeCo Personal Communications in
dark gray. The company will use its recently formalized name and new
logo to market the all-digital wireless TalkAlong(sm) and PowerBand(sm)
products it plans to introduce in time for this year's holiday
shopping season.

"Our new logo illustrates a critical part of PrimeCo's marketing
philosophy:

Make each experience the customer has with our services and employees
a fresh, new, benchmark for value, simplicity, and innovation," said
Ben Scott, president and CEO of PrimeCo Personal Communications.

In researching designs, PrimeCo found that nearly all current and
potential consumer and business users found the icon represented
simple, honest, friendly service; a bright idea; a company that cares
about people. Respondents also felt the logo was eye-catching and
said "give me a try," and that the colors gave the design a
warm
appeal.

One potential customer said the logo was, "new and high-tech,
without
being too hard-tech." "That's the differentiation we're
looking for,"
Scott said. "A logo that motivates the average consumer as well as
the sophisticated user."

Pentagram Design of New York designed the new logo for PrimeCo.
Angotti, Thomas Hedge, Inc., PrimeCo's advertising agency, provided
guidance and direction.

PrimeCo Personal Communications owns PCS licenses covering 61 million
potential customers in 11 major markets in 19 states throughout the
southwestern, mid-western, and southeastern portions of the U.S. The
company was formed in October 1994 by an alliance between AirTouch
Communications, Bell Atlantic, NYNEX, and US WEST Media Group.

The combined cellular and PCS properties of PrimeCo and its owners
include 39 of the top 50 U.S. markets, covering nearly 170 million
people in 46 states and the District of Columbia. The wireless
partnership plans to deliver to customers products and services that
are simple, easy to use and buy, and provide seamless nationwide
service. Headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, PrimeCo Personal
Communications has offices in all 11 of its license areas: Chicago,
Dallas, Honolulu, Houston, Jacksonville, Miami, Milwaukee, New
Orleans, Richmond, San Antonio, and Tampa.
