TANDBERG Selects Verizon Business to Support Advanced Global Collaboration

OSLO, Norway - TANDBERG, a leading global provider of telepresence, high-definition video conferencing, and mobile video products and services, has selected a Verizon Business Private IP solution for the company's worldwide corporate communications network. The fully managed solution will connect 50 of TANDBERG's key sites around the world, helping the company to collaborate effectively both internally and with its customers, suppliers and partners.

TANDBERG has almost 1,500 employees worldwide, working from dual headquarters in New York and Norway, and from global offices across Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America. TANDBERG conducts more than 2,500 video-conference meetings daily to drive its business success and connect its global workforce without the need to travel. The company's mission is to change the way people communicate, and, by using its own visual communications technology, TANDBERG is better able to equip its own employees to support their customers.

Torbjørn Eeg Larsen, chief information officer for TANDBERG, said: "We practice what we preach. Our employees rely on our visual communications tools as a natural way to collaborate. We needed a network that could support our internal and external communications needs, and Verizon Private IP has the global reach, scalability, capacity and security to meet our evolving IP communications needs.  The network enables us to bring together our employees face-to-face, no matter where they are located, helping us to build and foster virtual teams and collaborative working practices to drive business success."

Verizon Business is consolidating TANDBERG's global network infrastructure to a single IP circuit, supporting high-bandwidth visual communication, as well as high-capacity data exchange as part of the company's ongoing software development and innovation programs. Verizon Business is providing full management services, as well as stringent service-level agreements to support the efficient delivery of mission-critical data.

Blair Crump, Verizon Business group president of worldwide sales, said: "TANDBERG's global success is built on enabling innovation in collaboration, and the company exemplifies how Internet protocol-based visual communications can become integral to daily business success. Verizon Private IP offers a secure, reliable and high-speed foundation to support our multinational customers' evolving IP-based communications needs; but just as importantly, we have the global reach and capabilities to deliver high-quality support wherever and whenever our global customers need it."
