CTIA WIRELESS '98, ATLANTA -- Beginning March 1, users of Bell
Atlantic Mobile's DigitalChoiceSM service will be able to ommunicate
"mobile-to-mobile" throughout the company's Maine-to-northern Georgia
footprint for an unlimited number of local airtime minutes -- and for
as little as $9.99 a month.

According to Jack Plating, Bell Atlantic Mobile's executive vice
president and chief operating officer, this "all-you-can-use" plan
provides a very competitive price point that is both predictable and
economical for customers who communicate frequently with other digital
phone users on the Bell Atlantic Mobile network.

"Now that we have digital service deployed in all our markets, we are
focusing our efforts on enhancing our network and developing service
packages that make digital more accessible to all types of customers
with varying usage requirements," stated Plating. This
mobile-to-mobile plan will appeal to our customers with workgroups who
need to communicate with one another on the road -- like ransportation
services and utilities - as well as companies with a fleet of business
travelers or untethered staff, such as at stadiums and convention
centers.

Operating on Bell Atlantic Mobile's network -- the most advanced and
integrated on the East Coast -- DigitalChoice service delivers
increased call reliability, greater voice clarity, enhanced privacy
and an array of service features. Using DigitalChoice, customers can
make and receive calls, receive and answer pages, access voice mail
and identify incoming callers. In addition, customers can use their
digital phones virtually anywhere in the United States because Bell
Atlantic Mobile wireless service works on both analog cellular and
compatible digital networks.

Bell Atlantic Mobile bases DigitalChoice on Code Division Multiple
Access (CDMA) technology and is the industry leader in deploying CDMA
service. This "next generation" wireless technology greatly reduces
static and crosstalk and uses a unique noise suppression technique that
improves voice quality. It also allows for greater call capacity on
Bell Atlantic Mobile's network.

Note to Editors: Bell Atlantic Mobile is the largest wireless service
provider on the East Coast and the second largest in the United States.
The company owns and operates the most extensive network in the East,
covering 111,000 square miles, and the largest chain of wireless retail
outlets offering a full range of wireless personal communications
services, including voice, data and paging. Based in Bedminster, NJ,
Bell Atlantic Mobile has more than 5 million customers and 7,000
employees in the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and through a
separate subsidiary the Southwest. Through its Wireless at Work
community relations program, which includes HopeLine voice mail service,
Bell Atlantic Mobile uses its wireless technology to help individuals
and communities improve security and emergency communications.
