BASKING RIDGE, N.J. - BMW AG, one of the world's leading automotive engineering companies, has selected Verizon Business to enhance its communications network in Europe.
BMW AG will implement Verizon Private IP to provide a consolidated communications infrastructure linking 19 subsidiaries of the company in Eastern and South Eastern Europe with its headquarters in Munich. The three-year implementation is designed to consolidate business-critical applications such as accounting systems while providing additional scalability for future growth in the region.
BMW AG decided to connect its regional operations over a scalable IP-based infrastructure to increase efficiency, particularly as its regional operations continued to grow. Verizon Private IP was chosen as the best fit to support the company's current and future business objectives. The high-performance, MPLS-based network provides a strategic platform for IP convergence, as well as offering users maximum flexibility, security and connectivity. In addition, Verizon Business was able to offer BMW AG a winning combination of geographical availability with effective support in all its key markets.
Donald Badoux, head of specialized sales, Verizon Business, said: "Consolidation of communications onto the secure, reliable Verizon Private IP network provides companies like BMW AG with flexible infrastructures for ongoing market growth and business success."
