NEW YORK - Verizon Online is upgrading its Business E-mail Services, providing server anti-spam protection for the first time ever, at no additional cost to customers, and extending free anti-virus protection.
Verizon Online's Business E-mail Services are robust and reliable, with a server that is monitored and maintained round-the-clock. It houses e-mails for small- to mid-sized business owners so they do not have to run their own e-mail server, which can be very expensive because of hardware, software programs and maintenance.
Verizon Online will provide the anti-spam protection to all three categories of its e-mail services - Basic, Enhanced and Premium - covering more than 355,000 mail boxes. In addition, Basic customers will receive the anti-virus protection. In the past, this protection was limited to Enhanced and Premium customers.
"We are always evaluating our products and services to better provide our business customers with the tools they will need to enhance their business," said Tomas Nieves, senior product manager at Verizon.
Verizon Online offers an array of services and products that give small- to mid- sized business owners access to tools that were once only affordable by larger companies. Verizon Secure Mail (www.business.verizon.net/securemail), an e-mail encryption product recently launched in North America, allows many small- to mid-sized business owners to save on the cost to overnight sensitive materials to their customers. For $6.95 per month, subscribers can send unlimited Verizon Secure Mail messages with encryption from desktop to desktop along with a digital signature to authenticate that the messages have not been tampered with.
The monthly cost of Verizon Online's Business E-mail Services begins at $6 per mailbox. Verizon Business DSL offers a variety of packages with different maximum connection speeds and features tailored specifically for the needs of each business owner, starting as low as $24.95.
