Verizon  announced on Thursday (April 8) that the Comcast Network has launched on FiOS TV in the Philadelphia region, the Harrisburg area, and parts of southern New Jersey and Delaware.  The Comcast Network, which is now available on FiOS TV Channel 99 in these markets, offers local public affairs and community interest programming as well as selected Phillies, Flyers and 76ers games.  The Comcast Network joins FiOS TV's growing sports channel lineup, which already includes Comcast SportsNet in standard- and high-definition.

"Our goal has always been to provide our customers with the best in national and regional programming," said Mary Yarborough, vice president of marketing for the Philadelphia region.  "Philly has really embraced FiOS, and we expect this newest addition to our lineup will help customers get into the game from the comfort of their home."

With live games and replays from the Phillies, 76ers and Flyers on the Comcast Network, Verizon's FiOS TV customers in the region will now have access to even more professional sports action.  The channel also features live college games from a variety of conferences, including CAA and Ivy League basketball and college lacrosse.  In addition, the channel offers local news and public affairs programming featuring well-known TV personalities from the region, such as Art Fennell, Larry Kane and Lynn Doyle.

The Comcast Network joins FiOS TV's broad collection of programming, which features more than 565 all-digital channels including up to 140 HD channels in the Philadelphia region.  FiOS also provides next-generation interactive services including an advanced interactive media guide; social TV, news and entertainment widgets; remote DVR management; multi-room DVR; and more.
