BALTIMORE - Donora "Donni" L. Dingman, area manager of External Affairs for Verizon Maryland, has been named one of Maryland's Top 100 Women by The Daily Record, a business and legal publication in Baltimore.
The award was created six years ago to recognize extraordinary contributions made by women who have achieved professional success and have contributed to improving the communities in which they live and work. The women selected also play an active role in mentoring the younger generation of future business professionals.
Dingman has received the award three times, earning her a spot in the prestigious "Circle of Excellence."
"I am most proud of my contribution to the community as a volunteer leader with many different types of nonprofit organizations," Dingman said. "I am proud to be honored for helping out in my community." Dingman is a member of Network 2000, whose goal is to mentor women and significantly increase the number of women who serve on corporate boards.
Dingman is chairman of the board of the Columbia Festival of the Arts. She is also a founding member of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, director of the Carroll County Economic Development Commission and co-chair of the Legislative Committee. In addition, she serves on other civic and nonprofit boards.
Dingman received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Loyola College in Baltimore. She also holds a certificate in Change Management, a fellows program from Johns Hopkins University.
Dingman is responsible for government and community relations for Verizon Maryland.
