Verizon Names Rose Kirk as Vice President of Public Relations for Corporate Reputation

Rose Stuckey Kirk has been named vice president of public relations for corporate reputation. She will lead strategy, implementation and measurement of communications focused on Verizon's corporate responsibility, philanthropy and sustainability initiatives.  In addition, she will be a part of the communications leadership on issues and initiatives affecting the company.

Kirk will report to Tom Tauke, Verizon executive vice president of public affairs, policy and communications.

Kirk has more than 25 years' experience in telecommunications. In her most recent assignment, she served as vice president of sales operations for Verizon Wireless, responsible for the company's national sales distribution operations for the enterprise and government segment. Prior to that, she served as vice president of corporate employee communications and as vice president of partner sales and customer service for Verizon's small to medium business segment.  

In addition to her sales and marketing expertise, Kirk has significant experience in communications and journalism. A former news reporter for the Pine Bluff Commercial in Arkansas and the Times Daily in Alabama, she has received writing awards from The Associated Press and the Chairman's Award from the New York Times for news reporting.

Kirk began her career in telecommunications as a speechwriter in 1986. Over the years, she has held a number of roles of increasing responsibility in communications, marketing, product-line management and strategic planning within Verizon.

Kirk, who earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University, is a member of the university's Advisory Board for the College of Communications and chair of the Board of Directors for the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
