DLETOWN, Del. - Middletown area residents now have Verizon technicians closer to local homes and businesses, thanks to a new Verizon work center in Delaware's fastest-growing town.
The new work center brings 20 advanced technology jobs to Middletown, boosting the area's economy as well as providing a higher level of customer service. These employees were previously based at Verizon facilities in other areas of New Castle County.
"Verizon's customer care strategy combines great service and solutions that are so personal, convenient and thorough that customers will choose Verizon as the communications company that best meets their needs," said Joshua W. Martin III, president of Verizon Delaware. "With the opening the Middletown work center, our technicians will be able to reach customers more quickly and that means improved service."
Employees at the new Middletown center install and repair phone lines and other sophisticated telecommunications systems. The center is located on Haveg Drive, just off Route 299. Verizon also operates a telephone office in Middletown, located on West Green Street.
"Middletown has witnessed a sharp increase in population in the last few years, and with all of the new construction, demand for telecommunications services is exploding," said Verizon customer operations director Mike Wagner. "I think you will see the Middletown work center expanding to accommodate continuing growth in the area. We look forward to providing world-class service to our customers."
In the last decade, the number of telephone lines provided by Verizon's Middletown office has increased from about 6,000 to 15,000 today.
