MILWAUKEE - Verizon Wireless, the country's largest wireless telecommunications provider, has signed on to be an official sponsor of the world's largest musical festival-Summerfest 2000, scheduled for June 29-July 9 at Henry Maier Festival Park on Milwaukee's lakefront.

Verizon Wireless is sponsoring the Hole-in-One competition at this year's Summerfest, officially known as "Verizon Wireless Presents the Northwest Airlines Hole-in-One." Located at the south end of the Henry Maier Festival grounds, near the Amusement Ride Park, the Hole-in-One is a popular feature at Summerfest. Here, folks can try their luck at the most challenging waterhole around, a floating green 125 yards off shore, for the chance to win fabulous prizes, including a grand prize, a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon.

Verizon Wireless will also feature all the latest in wireless communications products and services at its Summerfest van which will be located on the west side of the Marcus Amphitheater food vendor building. Fest-goers can stop by the van to sample and purchase phones, upgrade their phones, pick up a new battery or other accessories, or just register for some great giveaways.
