Staying Close to Tech Startups Is 'a Natural Fit'

I have the opportunity to work with some of the smartest, most creative, most innovative minds in the world. Recently, I’ve been able to work close to even more incredible minds.

Some of them work for themselves in drafty old buildings, tinkering with new technologies that just might solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. I like to think of them as modern-day Margaret Knights, Graham Bells and Thomas Edisons.

"Verizon is an innovative company. Innovation is at the core of who we are. Partnering with startups is a natural fit.”  -- Angie Klein, Verizon regional vice president of marketing

We need to stay close to these people. And we do.

Verizon partners with a number of would-be entrepreneurs at business incubators throughout the United States, including Rhode Island’s Founders League, one of the best in the country.

Located in a reclaimed factory building in downtown Providence, Founders League is a community of entrepreneurs who are sharing space, knowledge and resources to start and grow their businesses. Verizon supports Founders League with mentoring, financial assistance and FiOS Quantum Internet service.

In describing the partnership, Angie Klein, Verizon regional vice president of marketing for consumer and mass business markets, said:  “Verizon is an innovative company. Innovation is at the core of who we are. Partnering with startups is a natural fit.”
