Last month, we shared our second video in our #openforbiz series, which featured another small business rebuilding in lower Manhattan after the destruction created by Hurricane Sandy.  Life after Sandy was difficult for many, including our small business customers in Lower Manhattan. Today, exactly six months after Hurricane Sandy, we feature our third and final installment.

Lenny’s, located at 32 Water St. in New York City, is a popular eatery known for its artistic approach to fresh specialty sandwiches.  This particular Lenny’s location had just celebrated its grand opening one week before Hurricane Sandy hit.  Unfortunately, Lenny’s suffered major water damage, which resulted in having to close its doors for several weeks while repairs were made and service was restored.

We stopped by Lenny’s and spoke to Alex Hwang about how the damage impacted the business and discussed the restoration process. Lenny’s has since re-opened for business, and we’d like to thank them for staying with us. Please continue to join us in supporting local businesses like Lenny’s, BAMKO and Fraunces Tavern.
