NEW YORK, NY — Verizon Wireless has expanded service coverage in Queens County with three new cell sites in Forest Hills, Corona and Ozone Park.
"The new cell sites will provide customers who live in and travel through these areas with greater wireless network coverage and increased clarity when making wireless calls," said Heidi Hemmer, Verizon Wireless Director of Engineering in metropolitan New York.
The site in Forest Hills improves service on Grand Central Parkway from 69th to 76th Roads and on Route 25 from 76th Road to 108th Street.
The Corona site enhances wireless calling on Route 495 from Junction Road to 109th Street, and on 99th Street from 63rd to 50th Roads.
In Ozone Park, the new site improves service on Liberty Avenue and Atlantic Avenue from 74th Street to 92nd Street.
The new sites are part of a $4 billion investment program this year to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network. More than $300 million of that investment is being used to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in the New York Metro area.
