DURHAM, NC — Verizon Wireless announced today that starting Monday, July 31, four Verizon Wireless communications stores in the Triangle area will collect school supplies for children whose parents are unable to obtain the necessary supplies for the new school year. The donated school supplies will fill the backpacks of the children expected to attend the 8th Annual Durham Rescue Mission Back to School Party on Tuesday, August 22nd.

From July 31st to August 13th, the Durham Rescue Mission is asking the community to donate new blunt edge kid-safe scissors, rulers, pens and loose-leaf paper and bring these items to any of the four Verizon Wireless stores serving as drop-off locations:

"We are pleased that Verizon Wireless is joining us and GlaxoSmithKline to make the 8th Annual Back to School Party the best yet," said Ernie C.
