Asian-Pacific American Heritage month was in May – and this year, Verizon celebrated with more than 50 Asian American celebrities by sharing their inspiring personal stories of success in an exclusive 19-episode mini-documentary series called “#IAm.”

Participants included actors Steven Yuen (“The Walking Dead”) and Harry Shum, Jr. (“Glee”); YouTube stars Michelle Phan and Ryan Higa; television personalities Carrie Ann Inaba (“Dancing with the Stars”) and Lisa Ling (“Our America with Lisa Ling”); and NBA star Jeremy Lin. All 19 episodes of “#IAm” are available to watch online at www.youtube.com/cape.

Produced in collaboration with the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE), a non-profit organization that champions diversity in entertainment and media, “#IAm” was created to celebrate the achievements of Asian Americans, inspire Asian American youth to pursue their dreams and spark a larger conversation about Asian American visibility in the media.

In addition to the impressive roster of celebrities involved with “#IAm,” this groundbreaking series also featured a distinguished team of behind-the-scenes talent, including senior executives from CBS Television and YouTube.

“#IAm is the very first of its kind: an all-digital campaign that features the world's biggest Asian stars," stated Bing Chen, YouTube Global Creator Development & Management Lead at Google and one of the executive producers of “#IAm.” “By having the series live on YouTube, we are able to reach not only Asian American viewers but also the larger community."
