Verizon Wireless recently awarded an $11,000 HopeLine grant to the YWCA of Genesee County in Batavia, NY to help fund “You Engaging Success,” a transitional program for victims of domestic violence.

The program will help victims move on from a crisis by helping them build their self-esteem and teaching them practical lessons. Participants will have access to counseling and training to become more secure with social, financial, emotional and physical aspects of day-to-day living.

“You Engaging Success” will also extend a hand to victims’ family, friends, neighbors and coworkers who may also be affected by domestic violence.

The grant is part of Verizon Wireless’ ongoing efforts to support the victims and families of domestic violence in our communities and the organizations that serve them. Since 2001, Verizon Wireless has donated more than $21 million in cash grants to our partner agencies.
