Supplier Diversity FAQS

I have registered in the Supplier Database. What are the next steps?

Once you have registered in the database, you will receive a confirmation email notifying you that your information was submitted successfully. After the form is reviewed, if there is a match to your company’s core competency areas and Verizon’s needs, you may be contacted.

Does supplier registration make me a “preferred” or approved supplier?

No. Registration in Verizon’s Supplier Database does not certify a firm as a “preferred” or “approved” supplier. Registration gives us access to your company’s information. We will use the information in the database as a source of potential suppliers to consider when an appropriate opportunity arises in our sourcing process.

Does supplier registration guarantee an award of a Verizon contract or placement on a bid list?

No. Supplier registration does not guarantee business with Verizon or any other Verizon affiliates or subsidiaries. Registration also does not obligate Verizon to place any supplier on a bidders list. Registration gives us access to your company’s information. We will use the information in the database as a source of potential suppliers to consider when an appropriate opportunity arises in our sourcing process.

I am a certified Minority, Woman or Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise (MWDVBE) or Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender-Owned Business Enterprise(LGBT). How can I do business with Verizon?

Verizon’s process to do business with potential suppliers is the same for all suppliers. To be considered for doing business with Verizon, you must first register in the Supplier Database. Register Now.

Does Verizon certify diverse suppliers?

Verizon does not certify diverse suppliers. We recognize certifications from associations for service Veterans, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the U.S. Business Leadership Network (USBLN), the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and various federal and state government agencies.

Does Verizon require prime contractors to use specific MWDVBE or LGBT subcontractors?

Verizon expects its prime suppliers to honor their commitment to diversity by actively including certified MWDVBE or LGBT suppliers as Tier Two vendors in Verizon procurements. However, we do not dictate which companies prime suppliers use subcontractors.
