The Borderless Enterprise is On the Rise

Technology professionals representing organizations of all stripes will begin converging on Orlando, Florida this weekend for the annual Enterprise Connect conference which runs from March 17 – 20 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center. Verizon Enterprise Solutions is excited to be returning as a Platinum sponsor to showcase a host of Unified Communications (UC) solutions in booth #800 that are helping businesses and government agencies streamline and strengthen their communications capabilities.

With today’s workforce more global and mobile than ever before, the need for employees to remain securely connected to corporate resources and to clients, partners and to one another has never been greater. To help meet this need, Verizon will be demonstrating how its leading UC solutions are allowing companies in specific vertical industries to work smarter and compete more effectively for market share.

A sampling of what visitors to Verizon’s booth will learn include how the company’s advanced contact center solutions are allowing financial services organizations to manage peak call volumes and reduce hold times for their customers; how Verizon’s IP Trunking solution is enabling retailers to simplify operations by consolidating IT resources; or, how Verizon’s Unified Communications and Collaboration-as-a-Service (UCCaaS) is helping manufacturers accelerate time to market by offering a simple and unified platform for employees, suppliers and customers in different locations to collaborate more easily via video conferences from virtually any network or device.

In addition, Verizon UC experts will be participating on a number of panels covering topics such as enterprise mobility, contact center solutions, Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and Open Video Communications. Some of the business issues to be addressed include best practices for establishing security and management platforms that can enable a mobile workforce; the importance of establishing HR and security policies between organizations and employees for governing ‘BYOD’ (‘Bring Your Own Device’); innovative trends in contact center solutions to keep pace with today’s consumer demand to communicate through social media; and, barriers and enablers of growth in the open video communications market. A preview of what Verizon will be sharing at Enterprise Connect can be found in the new video at the end of this article, featuring mobility expert Bill Versen speaking to how to solve for issues such as ‘BYOD’ which continue to vex organizations. As Bill comments, determining which types of employees can use their own devices for conducting business and which should receive corporate-issued devices comes down typically to job function and the corresponding levels of security needed to protect customers and the organization.
