European Commission To Continue Review Of WorldCom Merger With MCI

Jackson, MS and Washington, D.C. - March 4, 1998 - WorldCom
and MCI today received the decision of the European Commission to
continue its review of the pending merger of WorldCom with MCI. The
companies remain confident that the Commission will approve the
transaction and expect it to be completed on schedule in mid-1998.

WorldCom and MCI will continue to cooperate fully
and look forward to continuing their work with the Commission and
demonstrating the competitive benefits that the merger will deliver
in the U.S., Europe and around the world.

On November 10, 1997, MCI and WorldCom announced a
definitive merger agreement to form a new company called MCI
WorldCom.
