Find your self(ie) thanks to network upgrades in Yosemite

It’s a place like no other in the world. Yosemite National Park features countless waterfalls, spectacular granite rock formations, sweeping views, lakes, rivers and Giant Sequoias. And thanks to recent network upgrades made by Verizon, customers are enjoying expanded 4G LTE service to capture and share all that the park offers.

Just in time for historic visitation over Father’s Day weekend and the Centennial celebration of the National Park Service, Verizon expanded 4G LTE service to Sentinel Dome, Glacier Point and other remote areas of the park. Verizon’s 4G LTE service is already available throughout Yosemite Village.

“In just a matter of days, we’ve already seen a more than 50 percent increase in 4G LTE wireless data usage in the park thanks to this recent expansion,” said Brian Mecum, vice president of Network for Verizon. “More than four million visitors are expected to visit Yosemite this year, and we’re working to ensure that our customers are connected to capture and share their unique experiences in the park.”

Verizon was the first wireless provider to offer Yosemite Village visitors the ability to talk, text, surf the web and use their favorite apps at 4G LTE speeds. With a fast and reliable data connection, visitors can download and use the National Parks app, NPS Yosemite, to find and access information on all of the park’s most popular sites and activities.
