LDDS WorldCom Introduces Web-Based Network Management Service

JACKSON, Mississippi (September 19, 1996) --

LDDS WorldCom is revolutionizing network management in the
telecommunications industry as it introduces the first web-based
utilization reporting tool featuring integrated voice and data
reporting capabilities. The new service, called LDDS WorldCom Web
NMS, will be available nationwide this month. Any customer with a
computer and Netscape web browser can use the service.

"Our Web NMS is the only web-based utilization tool in the
industry that integrates both voice and data," said Kelly Pace,
product manager of LDDS WorldCom Web NMS Frame Relay. "The power
of a graphical user interface browser allows non-technical customers
to select and retrieve historical data in an easy to understand
report or graphical format. This allows the more technical staff to
concentrate on the other network responsibilities."

Three convenient access options to obtain report information from
the LDDS WorldCom Customer Intranet include dial-up, 56K dedicated
circuit or frame relay with a permanent virtual circuit. Using a
computer and Netscape web browser, customers can retrieve frame
relay, toll-free and dedicated access lines (DAL) performance data
with point and click ease. Customers can subscribe to one, two or all
three of the Web NMS reporting services. All of the services are
available through the same web platform.

"As a service provider, it is imperative that we continue to
offer new enhanced services like Web NMS so we can provide our
customers the critical, real-time information they need to better
manage their businesses. Web NMS shows our continued commitment as a
technology driven company which develops creative solutions for
business customers," said Michael Coar, LDDS WorldCom Web NMS
DAL and Toll-free product manager.

In near real time, toll-free Web NMS customers will have the
opportunity to monitor inbound calling volumes to balance their
organization's overall facilities or call distribution among
multiple locations; ensure all calls are getting through to the
company; adjust staffing based on traffic load reports; and track
response to specific toll-free numbers placed in advertising
materials. The service also captures important caller information
that customers can use later to create direct mailing lists.

For frame relay customers, Web NMS allows users to monitor their
frame relay network for optimal data transfer and provides near
real-time tracking of discard eligible traffic. The service also
helps customers determine when port expansion is necessary and
compares committed information rates (CIR) to the actual traffic load
so customers can validate their network designs to adequately meet
the data needs of their businesses.
