LDDS WorldCom Provides Long Distance Services For Southwestern Bell Mobile System
JACKSON, Miss. (February 14, 1996) --
WorldCom, Inc. (Nasdaq:WCOM) has signed an agreement to provide long
distance interLATA telecommunication services for Southwestern Bell
Mobile Systems, a subsidiary of SBC Communications Inc.
(NYSE:SBC).
Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems (SBMS) is the second largest
wireless communications provider in the United States, with 3.7
million cellular customers. Operating under the Cellular One and
Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems brand names, SBMS offers cellular
services in five of the nation's 15 largest metropolitan
areas.
Bernard J. Ebbers, president and chief executive officer of
WorldCom, Inc., said the agreement with SBMS further demonstrates
that LDDS WorldCom is well positioned to take advantage of business
opportunities in a rapidly changing telecommunications
marketplace.

carrier customers, positions us as the ideal provider for a company
like Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems," Ebbers said.
