New Solution Provider Program to Offer More Opportunities for VARs
ASHBURN, Va., FEBRUARY 8, 2005 - MCI (NASDAQ: MCIP) today announced it has revamped and renamed its U.S. channel program to better meet the needs of a wide range of value-added resellers. The MCI Solution Provider Channel program now offers agents representing MCI's Internet, data and voice services, as well as managed service solutions, the means to accelerate sales, while providing greater value to their customers.
MCI is rolling out a three-tiered program to give agents and resellers the opportunity to increase benefits as their revenue and participation grows. MCI also is launching a certification program for MCI's key IP offerings, including Private IP, IP VPN, MCI Advantage, Security, Managed Network Services, Hosting and local voice services. MCI's certification program will enable Solution Providers to demonstrate their knowledge of its products and services, better meeting their customers' requirements as they transition to IP.

As part of its efforts, MCI has redesigned its sales commission structure to coincide with each of three participation levels, Solution, Preferred or Premier Provider. With each level, MCI offers increased benefits and support as well as higher commissions with incremental commissions available on its key IP offerings and local voice services.
MCI is offering Solution Providers additional marketing programs, including sales incentives, marketing materials for use with prospects and customers, access to the MCI program logo and ongoing updates for new products and programs. Sub-agent referrals and sales leads will be available to Preferred and Premier Providers.
MCI backs its Solution Provider program with strong sales support throughout the sales cycle. Working closely with its channel members, MCI dedicates an MCI channel manager to help value-added resellers manage their MCI business, including providing technical consultants for design assistance and dedicated implementation coordinators to ensure solutions are installed quickly and reliably. MCI also operates a Help Desk for Solution Providers with 24/7 access to a user-friendly extranet.
