Focus on Indirect Sales Channel Results in 30 Percent More MCI Agents in 2004
ASHBURN, Va., November 2, 2004 - MCI (NASDAQ: MCIP) today announced it has surpassed the 1,000 Solution Provider milestone, expanding its authorized network of agents and value-added resellers (VARs) that represent MCI's Internet, data and voice products, as well as managed service solutions. MCI's continued focus on this market has resulted in a 30 percent increase in new agents since January 2004.
During the time period, MCI has launched more than 15 new offerings to the VAR community, including Flex T-1, Managed Email Content, Managed Firewall Solo/Office/Corporate, IP VPN, Enterprise DSL and enterprise and personal firewall offerings. These offerings, backed by stringent Service Level Agreements, specifically address the channel's need for additional security and mobility solutions.
