WICHITA, Kansas - May 26, 1999 - MCI WorldCom today announced
that it is expanding its local presence in Wichita with the addition of
100 jobs at its Mass Markets Call Center located in Wichita. The Center
currently employs more than 600 sales representatives, and offers both
full-time and part-time work.
"MCI WorldCom has had a strong presence in the Wichita area
since 1989 and we're pleased to build on that commitment by adding
100 additional sales jobs at this facility," said Pat Calvert, the
Center's director. "In our tenth year in Wichita, MCI WorldCom
continues to set the highest standards in sales performance, and this
expansion will help us to continue to provide customers with efficient
and cost effective services."
The Wichita Center houses telemarketing services for MCI
WorldCom's Mass Markets division which provides domestic and
international telecommunications services to residential and small
business customers. The jobs the Center is seeking to fill are a
combination of part- time and full-time sales positions. MCI WorldCom
is adding these new jobs as a result of increased demand for its
portfolio of consumer and small business products, including MCI One
Savings and MCI One Savings for Small Business.
"Wichita and its strong workforce are important to MCI
WorldCom's continued success,'' added Calvert." Our
employees have had close ties to this community for many years and we
