Three More Trump Properties in New York City to Receive Verizon's All-Fiber-Optic FiOS Services

NEW YORK - Residents in three more Donald Trump buildings in Manhattan will soon have access to Verizon FiOS services, delivered over the company's industry-leading, all-fiber-optic network.

Verizon, which recently signed an agreement with the Trump Organization, will bring FiOS TV and FiOS Internet services to Trump Parc, Trump Parc East and 610 Park Avenue, which contain more than 500 apartments.

Residents of two other Trump buildings - The Trump World Tower at United Nations Plaza and Trump Park Avenue - already enjoy 100 high-definition (HD) channels provided by FiOS TV and broadband speeds of up to 50 Mbps (megabits per second) provided by FiOS Internet service.

"Trump properties are known for offering premier amenities that represent the finest lifestyle-choice options," said Eric Cevis, vice president of Verizon Enhanced Communities, a business organization of Verizon that markets and sells communications and entertainment services to single- and multiple-home communities. "With FiOS, Trump residents will receive the highest-quality broadband and entertainment services available in the market. The immense capacity of our all-fiber-optic network means residents will receive HD signals just as Verizon receives them, without the additional compression that some cable companies perform."

Trump Organization Chairman and President Donald J. Trump said, "We're taking advantage of Verizon's recently earned ability to deliver FiOS TV in New York City over fiber-optic lines connected straight to my buildings, which continues the high standard of excellence I demand. We know our residents will appreciate having the option to choose the very best in entertainment services from Verizon."

Trump and Verizon are exploring other Trump properties that can be served by Verizon FiOS services.

"We never had a second thought about having Verizon FiOS services installed in the buildings," said Trump Organization Chief Operating Officer Matthew Calamari. "At Trump properties we provide super-luxurious accommodations and the latest technology to serve our residents.

"When we first learned of the advanced network capabilities of Verizon FiOS services, we wanted to bring them immediately to our residents," Calamari said. "It's technology that we believe will support future applications our residents will adopt."

Verizon's FiOS Services

Verizon's FiOS TV service offers a broad collection of all-digital programming, with more than 500 total channels, including up to 100 high-definition channels in markets such as the  New York City metro area.  FiOS TV also delivers 11,000 video-on-demand (VOD) titles per month, 70 percent of which are free. The VOD library also includes more than 1,000 HD VOD titles each month.

Verizon FiOS Internet service can deliver Internet access with maximum downstream connection speeds of up to 50 Mbps (megabits per second) on the nation's most advanced digital, all-fiber-optic network. At 50 Mbps, downloading a 1.2 GB (gigabyte), or 90-minute, standard-definition movie takes approximately 3.2 minutes. Upload speeds of up to 20 Mbps make it a snap to share purchased videos and files over Verizon's large-scale fiber-optic network that extends all the way to customers' homes or small and medium-sized businesses.

Verizon's FiOS Internet service was named the top pick this year in PC Magazine's readers' survey and also was named a winner in PC World Magazine's The 100 Best Products of 2008.  It was the second year in a row the broadband service was named to both lists.

Trump Parc, located at 106 Central Park South, is the former Barbizon Plaza Hotel, which was built in 1929. The 38-story building extends to 58th Street and wraps around Trump Parc East on the southwest corner at the Avenue of the Americas. In 1987, Donald Trump transformed the building into a 340-unit condominium. Apartments range in size from studios to full-floor penthouses featuring oversized windows that provide unobstructed views of Central Park to the north and the city skyline to the south.

The 14-story Trump Parc East, located at 100 Central Park South, was also built in 1929 and converted into 74 condominiums in 1997.  Apartment features include high-beamed ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, oversized windows and herringbone-wood floors.

The third building, 610 Park Avenue, located at East 65th Street, was formerly the Mayfair Hotel. In 1998, the 15-story building was converted into 70 luxury condominiums maintaining a classic pre-war style featuring elegant moldings, solid-core wood doors, coffered ceilings and rich herringbone-wood floors. The internationally famous, four-star restaurant Daniel is located in the building.

The planned addition of FiOS services at these three Trump properties reflects the competitive advantage that Verizon's fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network offers developers in marketing their properties.

Since the end of 2005, Verizon has aggressively pursued agreements with multifamily owners to bring FiOS to their communities. To date, Verizon FiOS is available to residents in more than 870,000 apartments in parts of 16 states and the District of Columbia.
