Quiz winners for Mix and Match.

This week, Verizon launched Mix and Match to give wireless customers more options and flexibility when choosing a plan. We invited internet quiz wizard Rachel McMahon to invent the perfect quiz for customers to help choose the plan that’s right for them. V Teamers Daniel Arango, Whitney Banks, Dan Knox, and Jennifer Rose were picked as this week’s winners, when they took the quiz and shared their results with the Up To Speed team. Each will receive a copy of Rachel’s new book, “What Kind of Quiz Book Are You?”

Samsung launches new line of Galaxy Notes.

On Wednesday, Samsung hosted a Galaxy Unpacked event in Brooklyn, NY, for the launch of their new Galaxy Note smartphones. The Barclays Center was packed with people, as attendees got a first look and test run of the Note 10, the Note 10+, and the Note 10+ 5G. It was also announced that Verizon will be the first provider for the Note 10+ 5G, adding another 5G smartphone to an already impressive lineup. All of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 models can be pre-ordered now, and will be available on August 23.

Random acts of kindness in El Paso, TX.

In the aftermath of the recent shooting in El Paso, TX, sixth-grade student Ruben Martinez came up with an idea: challenge his neighbors to 22 random acts of kindness. Ruben’s idea has taken off on social media, with people sharing their kind acts and tagging it with #ElPasoChallenge. Ruben’s challenge has reached the V Team too. When Consumer Group leader Ronan Dunne held a town hall for employees in El Paso this week, he invited Ruben to speak to employees about the idea behind the challenge. Then, together they all wrote thank you notes to send to first responders in the area.
