Two truckloads of goods for the troops.
V Teamers participate in “Adopt a Unit” to help the Red Cross say thank you to our military serving abroad.
V Teamers like to give back. They especially like it when it’s in support of our military troops. And a little healthy competition amongst friends doesn’t hurt either.
Call centers, garage work centers and central offices across Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania participated in the American Red Cross Armed Forces Adopt-A-Unit Campaign. The result, 24 pallets or two tractor trailers full of goods were collected. And when wireline network field ops leaders Jay Beasley and Yoli Stancil get involved, it’s always a competition to see who’s team donated the most. Jay, who also serves on the board for the New Jersey Chapter of American Red Cross, was sure to point out his team donated 2 more pallets. Jay also took a moment to pass his purpose coin onto Gene Hinners who is always instrumental in organizing the event.
This past weekend, over 100 V Teamers and their families partnered with other companies at a UPS (United Parcel Service) location in Parsippany, NJ to sort the goods and create care packages to be deployed to active service members abroad.
