Two Verizon IT Executives Named to Global Telecoms Business ‘40 Under 40’ List

NEW YORK -- Verizon executives Farooq Muzaffar and Mustansir Jhaveri have been named by Global Telecoms Business magazine to its 2009 40 Under 40 list of senior executives most likely to lead the industry over the next decade or two.

Muzaffar and Jhaveri are part of Verizon's Information Technology Department, which plays an integral role in the company's global capability to offer leading communications and IT products and services for individual, business, government and wholesale customers.

Muzaffar, vice president of IT product development at Verizon Business, is responsible for developing new products for the global business market. He oversees such next-generation areas as collaboration, software as a service, VoIP, security, contact centers and conferencing. Prior to this role, Muzaffar was executive director in the Verizon architecture and eServices group where he was responsible for delivering next-generation communications solutions to enterprise customers.

Jhaveri leads the Verizon IT network systems group, which develops and maintains applications for managing operations for Verizon's wireline networks. His responsibilities as vice president of IT network systems include Verizon network engineering, construction and provisioning systems. He manages a world-class software development team that develops industry-leading operations support systems solutions. Prior to this position, Jhaveri led IT's engineering and supply chain systems and helped conceive and build new systems for the company's extensive fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) network build.
