UUNET GEARS UP THE CHANNEL FOR WEB COMMERCE CUSTOMERS AT CHANNEL EXPO '99
Channel Expo '99
Stand 508, Hall 10
Birmingham NEC
May 19th - 20th, 1999
UUNET, the Internet services division of MCI WorldCom, will be demonstrating its enhanced Channel Partner Programme on stand 508 (Hall 10) at this year's Channel Expo show. The programme is designed to help members adapt their offerings to accommodate the effects the Internet is having on the way companies conduct business. An update on new products and services will also be featured, including Co-Locate Express, a UUHost product that helps companies of all sizes take advantage of the Internet to expand their business.
Visitors can also attend the UUNET Internet Clinic to discuss how their own products can be integrated with UUNET's, to develop solutions that meet their customers e-business requirements.
UUNET Partner Programme
UUNET has made comprehensive developments to its Partner Programme, that deliver better value and increased services to its resellers. Formerly Team UUNET, the new Partner Programme has been extended to recognise the various specialisms of UUNET resellers. Each member now falls into one of two categories, Resellers or Master Resellers. If appropriate and based on their capabilities, Resellers and Master Resellers can also be accredited into one of the four specialist partner categories: Web, Security, Network Solutions or E-Commerce. Each of these categories recognises a key area of concentration for UUNET within the UK and global markets.
Co-Locate Express
UUNET's Co-Locate Express, operates on a usage-based billing structure. This enables companies wishing to deploy significant web business practices to receive the benefits of a hosting service, with direct access to UUNET's Internet infrastructure, for a highly competitive price. The service is designed to help companies with limited budget or resources to take advantage of using the Internet for e-business. Customers receive all the key benefits of a traditional hosting service, but are only charged for the usage time that traffic passes along the line, as opposed to a traditional flat rate charge.
Presentations
Karl Meyer, UK business development manager for UUNET, will be speaking at the ASCOM Technology Centre at 11.15am on Wednesday and Thursday about the benefits of adding the Internet to a portfolio and how UUNET's Partner Delivered Solutions can support this. Ultima, a UUNET partner, will be giving a presentation at the Metro Data Technology Centre on the lucrative benefits of installing e-mail systems and how resellers can include this in their own offering. The presentations will take place at 3pm on May 19th and 11.30am on May 20th.
