Clients and Partners
- PetSmart, Inc., the largest specialty pet retailer of services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets, signed a three-year renewal with Verizon Enterprise Solutions for Private IP, the company’s MPLS-based global network infrastructure, which seamlessly connects PetSmart’s employees in retail locations, distribution centers and corporate offices throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico with customers, partners and suppliers, while offering a secure platform for processing point-of-sale transactions. As part of the agreement, PetSmart will also continue to leverage Verizon IP Trunking, or voice-over-IP, which creates operational efficiencies by converging voice and data applications in addition to Verizon 4G LTE for business continuity.
- Verizon continues to help National DCP, LLC connect 7,000 Dunkin’ Donut franchises, manage its legacy systems in a Verizon data center and support its new enterprise-side IT solution on Verizon Cloud infrastructure.
- Verizon provided the cloud technology to Altisource, a global financial and business services company and a leading provider of mortgage, financial and technology services for the real estate industry. The technology will support Altisource’s rapidly expanding business, help scale its IT operations improve efficiency and drive new revenue.
- TNT, one of the world’s largest express delivery companies, selected Verizon to implement its global communications infrastructure. Verizon is providing global network, telephony and conferencing services, as well as comprehensive security solutions to help TNT’s 58,000 employees collaborate and deliver seamless, efficient and effective service to TNT’s customer base of companies around the world. In addition, with the Verizon team taking responsibility for all network management and operational needs, TNT’s internal team is able to focus all its efforts on supporting the company’s strategic goals.
- Verizon and MiCTA, a nationwide group-purchasing organization, will provide state and local government agencies, K–12 schools, colleges and universities, libraries and nonprofits with access to a broad array of advanced communications and information technology solutions. Under the new agreement, Verizon is expanding the scope of available solutions, adding services such as cloud computing, managed hosting, mobile device management and content delivery capabilities through Verizon Digital Media Services, as well as expanded network and desktop security, and professional consulting services.
- Verizon and Deloitte announced a strategic alliance to deliver a comprehensive set of security and risk-management solutions to help businesses prepare, respond and recover more efficiently, effectively and thoroughly when a cyberattack occurs. The Deloitte/Verizon alliance will leverage the strength of Verizon’s global computer forensics, incident response, and investigation services in conjunction with the breadth and depth of Deloitte’s cyber risk advisory services designed to fortify businesses in the areas of governance, strategy, business operations, risk and compliance, and remediation to deliver an end-to-end incident response experience.
- Ingram Micro Mobility joined the Verizon Partner Program to provide IT resellers with end-to-end, machine-to-machine (M2M) and mobility solutions that include hardware, software and accessories, along with device-activation capabilities. With the Verizon Partner Program, IT resellers will benefit from a shortened sales cycle and more simplicity in the delivery of multi-vendor solutions.
- Verizon announced its new Partner Advantage Program that allows agents to enter its partner program at a level comparable to its competitor’s channel program. This way, qualifying program members can enjoy the benefits available to them through Verizon without starting over.
Network and Connectivity
- Verizon deployed 100G technology on its network in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, connecting these three locations and further extending 100G technology on the Verizon global network. This deployment added approximately 11,681 terrestrial and submarine miles (18,800 kilometers) to the company’s extensive 100G network. These additional miles expand the more than 32,000 100G miles already deployed on Verizon’s U.S. network and 8,500 100G miles on its European network.
- Verizon announced it will deploy a next-generation 100G metro network in the U.S. that will deliver increased capacity, reduced latency and improved scalability to meet increasing enterprise requirements for more robust network infrastructure. The exponential growth of high-definition video services and wireless solutions in the enterprise and consumer markets requires a network that can scale to handle the increased bandwidth needs.
- Verizon expanded its Unified Communications & Collaboration as a Service (UCCaaS) solution and introduced new innovative capabilities, including Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms.
- Verizon’s Private IP networking solution will be a part of Microsoft’s new Skype for Business The service will be a part of Microsoft’s Azure ExpressRoute Service, which connects to Verizon’s Private IP service through the Secure Cloud Interconnect platform. Verizon’s Private IP service is available in more than 150 countries and territories and offers enterprise clients the following benefits: stringent service level agreements, including latency and packet-loss; easy scalability; varying classes of service; strong security (encryption) and exceptional service.
- Verizon used its Retail Index to identify online consumer retail shopping patterns in the U.S. The Verizon Retail Index measured average daily traffic and peak volumes (based on the most active five-minute increment over a 24-hour period). Key findings are available in Top 3 Takeaways from the Verizon Retail Index.
Cloud
- Verizon upgraded Verizon Cloud, the company’s cloud infrastructure and storage platform, adding seamless upgrade functionality that allows Verizon to conduct major system upgrades without interrupting service or limiting infrastructure capacity.
- Verizon expanded its cloud offering in Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore. The new services are designed to meet the demand for secure, enterprise-grade cloud capabilities as opportunities for multinational companies in the region grow. In addition, it offers customers improvements in memory, storage and network uptime, as well as enhanced flexibility and control. Customers also benefit from Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect, which enables secure connections to six leading cloud service providers (Microsoft, Salesforce, Amazon, Google, HP and Verizon), and access to Verizon Cloud Marketplace, a one-stop shop for software-based cloud resources that are certified to operate in Verizon’s cloud environments.
Security
- Verizon released its 2015 PCI Compliance Report, which examines the state of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance and its correlation to data breaches among global organizations in the financial services, retail and travel and hospitality industries, among other sectors.
- Verizon launched a new easy-to-use enterprise portal for its Managed Certificate Services platform that offers digital certificate creation and management capabilities for large-scale IoT deployments in the tens of millions. Offering a first line of defense, Verizon’s Managed Certificate Services (MCS) platform is specifically designed to authenticate objects and machines (much like two-factor authentication of people) — verifying object and machine “identities” for the trusted exchange of information — and secure data transmitted between these connections.
Internet of Things
- To help demystify the Internet of Things (IoT), Verizon released its “State of the Market: The Internet of Things 2015” report, which examines why enterprises should consider adopting IoT technologies, how different industries are using connected solutions and the benefits and challenges associated with the Internet of Things.
Mobility
- To give enterprise customers more flexibility with their mobile device deployments, Verizon introduced Flexible Business Plans on the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE network. These plans offer customized shared data allowance for all lines on the account, in addition to unlimited voice, messaging and international messaging.
