- For d’Amico Societa di Navigazione, business continuity was critical when the Italian global shipping company reviewed its communications requirements. A Verizon customer since 2005, d’Amico already was using Verizon’s secure and scalable global IP network to support its global communications. However, as news stories continued to highlight disasters – both natural and man-made – the company decided to rethink its business continuity plan to ensure its operations could continue to function, should the worst happen. The Verizon solution chosen by d’Amico is a business continuity strategy based on Verizon Terremark’s enterprise cloud, which can be accessed by d’Amico whenever the need arises. In addition, co-location services in Verizon’s Dublin data center offer reliable access to business-critical applications.
- Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), one of the world’s pre-eminent architecture firms, provides architect, interior, programming and master planning services for clients in both the public and private sectors around the world. Hurricane Sandy and its impact in New York City caused KPF to reevaluate its business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and reached out to Verizon Enterprise Solutions to serve as its strategic advisor for these plans. After careful planning with Verizon for the best way to help keep KPF online in the event of a disaster, KPF came up with a disaster recovery solution by replicating its core data 60+ terra bytes to Verizon Terremark’s facility in Culpeper, Va. The change involved moving forward with 200M Private IP and 100M Internet Dedicated Ethernet Circuits that keeps KPF’s core data online and accessible from anywhere globally. KPF has also upgraded its existing Verizon private IP lines around the world allowing it to auto failover e-mail and voice data to its remote offices, satisfying business continuity needs.

Verizon was awarded the contract for Verizon Terremark’s colocation services because of its service level agreements and the location of its data centers.
- Driven by the global appetite for wireless data and the rapid adoption of mobile applications, American Tower, a leading independent owner and operator of wireless and broadcast communication sites, needed to upgrade its existing data network to help it service its external global customers and run internal data applications.
