Verizon Matches Employee Donations; Waives Call and Text Charges to Help Nepal Earthquake Victims

Verizon announced relief efforts to make it easier for employees and customers to donate and contact victims of Saturday’s (April 25) devastating earthquake in Nepal and neighboring regions.

To assist at this critical time:

  • Verizon Foundation will match employees’ donations to American Red Cross and World Vision
  • Charges for long-distance calls and texting to Nepalese numbers will be waived
  • Verizon Wireless is supporting text-to-donate programs, allowing customers to make a $10 donation to qualifying non-profit organizations including:
    • World Vision by texting NEPAL to 777444
    • The Red Cross by texting REDCROSS to 90999
