TOKYO - October 5, 2000 - MCI WorldCom Japan Ltd. [WorldCom, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Vinod Kumar] today announced expansion of its service area beyond Tokyo and Osaka to provide direct service connectivity to customers in Yokohama and Kobe. By year-end the company will extend services to Chiba and Nagoya.
In addition, the company announced the launch of new domestic ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode), Frame Relay and Business Link (Private Leased Circuit) services.

As part of the company's commitment to improving communications services in Japan, WorldCom is creating choice for business customers in the cities of Yokohama, Kobe, Nagoya, and Chiba. Business Link services offers secure, reliable dedicated line services at a bandwidth range of 64 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps over WorldCom's own managed fiber-optic network. These services are available in Tokyo and Osaka.
WorldCom's Frame Relay Services allows flexible reconfiguration of connections to meet the changing demands of the customer's business. WorldCom domestic Frame Relay supports port sizes ranging from 64 Kbps to 1.5M at a choice of speeds ranging from 16Kbps to 1Mbps. Fully scalable, additional capacity can be added as the customer requires, at a lower cost than a dedicated line. The service area includes Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Yokohama, Chiba, and Nagoya.
