CLINTON, Miss, March 11, 2001 – In response to reports that WorldCom, Inc. (NASDAQ: WCOM) has investigated acquiring Energis, the U.K. alternative telecommunications provider, the company issued the following statement today:
"WorldCom, Inc. has not had discussions with Energis about a possible acquisition, it does not plan to have such discussions, nor does it plan to acquire Energis."
