WorldCom launches two International Direct Dial services in Singapore for business customers

WorldCom to Leverage Its Leading Global Network Reach to Offer
Businesses Cost Savings Through New IDD Services

Singapore, February 27, 2002 - WorldCom today launched two International Direct Dial (IDD) services designed to help business customers in Singapore directly access WorldCom's leading global voice network to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies. The IDD services, WorldCom 005 and BetterCall 1555, are the first WorldCom IDD services to be launched in Singapore.

With the additional services, WorldCom now offers customers a full range of business solutions including voice, high-speed data, Internet access, colocation and facilities management services through its metropolitan fiber network in Singapore.

WORLDCOM 005

Designed for larger businesses that require clear and uninterrupted service on all international calls, WorldCom 005 offers customers in Singapore unmatched quality, savings and access to a wide variety of global business centres, including Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, the United States and Germany. After installation of dedicated voice network connections and equipment, business customers can dial "005" to save up to 51 percent on direct calls to over 200 countries around the world. To ensure a high level of quality and reliability of service, WorldCom offers a 24x7 multilingual customer helpdesk, as well as a constant automated monitoring of all network connections at its 12 international network control centers.

-BETTERCALL 1555

BetterCall 1555, which enables users to save up to 52 percent on all international calls, provides one of the industry's best values for small-to-medium size companies. Business customers can use their existing telephone lines to connect to WorldCom's global network by simply dialing "1555" to access over 200 countries at highly competitive rates.

"WorldCom's first introduction of IDD services in South Asia is based on customer demand that leading industry analysts expect to rise by 20 percent to more than US$500 million by 2004 in Singapore alone," said Mr. Bruce Willey, senior vice president, WorldCom Asia Pacific. "As a leading global communications provider, WorldCom IDD customers in Singapore will be assured of high quality international calls over WorldCom's global network."

"WorldCom understands that businesses need to reduce operational expenses in today's intensely competitive market," added Willey. "With WorldCom IDD services, our customers can get the best of both worlds -superior quality IDD calls at rates that lead the industry in terms of value. Moving forward, we expect to provide IDD services in other markets in which deregulation encourages competition."

Both IDD services offer Singapore customers one of the most flexible rate plans and attractive discount programs in Singapore. WorldCom 005 and BetterCall 1555 customers are billed through a Simple Rate Plan that charges a flat per second rate throughout the day. Customers do not have to pay a registration charge or monthly subscription fee. There is also no minimum IDD spending commitment and large volume international callers also receive attractive volume discounts.
