Each December, thousands of volunteers around the nation join in a wreath-laying tradition to honor servicemen and women on National Wreaths Across America Day.
Since 1992, Wreaths Across America, a non-profit organization based in Columbia Falls, ME, has been coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 1,600 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad. They invite volunteers to remember and honor service members by placing wreaths decorated with red bows on their graves.
This year, more than 800 V Teamers, including members of VAB and VALOR employee resource groups, signed up for this inspiring volunteer opportunity using our new volunteer portal. They came together to pay tribute to late veterans in ceremonies across 18 locations from New Jersey to California. More than 200 wreaths donated by the V Team now lay on graves and memorials of those who gave their lives for our freedom.
‘Tis the season to give back. How are you going to get involved?
