Today on Up To Speed: It’s trash day and Elon Musk takes us to Mars as we discover out-of-this-world tech.

Elon Musk’s Starship

You might be able to visit Mars sooner than you think. Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, is expecting his Starship rocket system to launch within six months. Musk intends to use the rocket to send people to Mars and the Moon for human exploration. SpaceX is in the process of building prototypes and plans to start flying them in the coming months. The SmartCan

Never forget trash day again. Introducing, the SmartCan. Designed to automatically move to the curb on trash day, the can’s technology will sync to a programmed schedule of your choice to make sure the trash is always ready to be picked up. Once emptied, the can will even return back to its starting position saving you from doing any of the dirty work. Check out Gizmodo’s article for more info on the SmartCan.

Echo Buds

Last Thursday, Amazon had its third annual hardware event, where it announced a number of  wearable technologies that integrate with Amazon Echo. Notable products include Echo Buds; the newest way to connect to your in-home Echo system while also listening to your favorite jams. Priced at $125, the buds will feature five-hour battery life and Bose noise reduction. Read more about the Echo Buds and more products from the event right here.

Here’s the crazy beverage cart video at O’Hare.

Travelers at O’Hare Airport were in for interesting entertainment as they waited to board. Onlookers watched as a catering cart spun out of control after a case of water pressed down on the gas pedal. The cart’s joyride ended only after being stopped by another vehicle.
