Advanced Messaging

Introduction

Advanced Messaging service provides enhanced features and capabilities to your existing messaging experience. The service, also known as Rich Communications Service (RCS), allows you to send and receive higher quality text content, such as higher resolution pictures and videos. Within the Samsung messaging applications, for example, Advanced Messaging provides users with the ability to participate in larger group chats and easily message with brand chatbots. Advanced Messaging service is covered by the Verizon Privacy Policy as well as the practices described here. If there is a conflict between the two policies, the practices described in this policy govern when you are using Advanced Messaging service.

We collect information about your device and your use of Advanced Messaging capabilities. This includes your mobile telephone number, device identifiers, and your ip address. When you use the group chat feature, we collect the group name and identifier as well as group members’ mobile device numbers.

We use this information to deliver, analyze, maintain and support Advanced Messaging features.

When you use the Chatbot directory service feature, we collect information about your messaging with chatbots in the directory. We keep this information for a limited time so that we may handle spam complaints. Information sharing.

We provide measurement information to  chatbot providers in the chatbot directory such as overall reporting about the number of users and frequency of use.
