Fios Auto Pay sign up and discount FAQs

To set up Auto Pay through My Verizon:

• My Verizon website - Select Bill > Auto Pay. Follow the prompts to set your payment method and payment date.
• My Verizon app - On the Me tab, choose Bill Overview, then Manage Auto Pay.

To get a monthly Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount, you must enroll in paper-free billing and set up Auto Pay using the Verizon Visa Card or your bank account as your Auto Pay payment method*.

Good to know: If you’re enrolled in Auto Pay and you use a credit or debit card to make a separate payment, you might lose your Auto Pay discount next month. You keep the discount if you make the separate payment with your Verizon Visa Card or a bank account.

*Exception: If you signed up for the Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount using a debit card before 8/13/25, you continue earning the discount, even if you change to a different eligible plan or different debit card. 

Yes. You should continue to make payments until your first Auto Pay payment is taken out of your account.

You can opt out of Auto Pay any time.

Cancel or change Auto Pay:

• My Verizon website - Select Bill > Auto Pay. Follow the prompts.
• My Verizon app - On the Me tab, choose Bill Overview, then Manage Auto Pay.

Yes. You can use the payment method that's most convenient for you.

However, to be eligible for a monthly discount with eligible Fios Home Internet and/or Fios TV plans, you must use a bank account, Verizon Visa Card for your payment method*, along with paper-free billing:

• $10/month discount when you have select Verizon Fios myHome Internet plans or Fios TV plans 
• $20/month discount when you have both services

Good to know: If you use the Verizon Visa Card, you can earn 1% in Verizon Dollar rewards on your Verizon purchases. 

*Exception: If you signed up for the Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount using a debit card before 8/13/25, you continue earning the discount, even if you change to a different eligible plan or different debit card. 

Yes, we’ll let you know when we receive your payment, as long as you have an updated email or mobile number listed on your account and are opted in to receive bill notifications.

Visit My Verizon to check your notifications:

• My Verizon website - Choose Account > Edit profile & settings  > Preferences  > Communication preferences > Manage Notifications.
• My Verizon app - On the Me tab choose Profile & Settings. Choose Home > Preferences  >  Communication preferences.

Yes, we’ll let you know that you’ve successfully enrolled by email or text.

You can change your payment method any time in My Verizon.

• My Verizon website - Select Bill > Manage Auto Pay > Manage. Follow the prompts to update or add a new payment method.
• My Verizon app - Under My balance, choose Manage Auto Pay. Follow the prompts to make changes.

If you disconnect your monthly Fios service:

• Your Auto Pay continues until outstanding service charges are paid in full
• Any credit or refund will be applied to your payment method.

Yes, you can change your payment date in My Verizon:

• My Verizon website - Select Bill > Manage Auto Pay > Manage. Follow the prompts to make changes
• My Verizon app - Under My balance, choose Manage Auto Pay. Follow the prompts to make changes.

Yes. You can pause Auto Pay once you’e enrolled. However, you can discontinue Auto Pay at any time.
